Who has time to make jewelry, seriously?

Well, I really don't, what with all the shows I'm doing and the other work I have to accomplish (no, unfortunately my designs haven't yet allowed me to quit the proverbial 'day job') however I did manage to finally, finally finish my new pendant, earring, cuff and ring designs - Yay me!

I really do love these styles, and by the response I've been receiving at my events, quite a few of you enjoy them too... whew. They are either sterling silver with sweet little diamonds, or I've done them in 10K gold vermeil with teeny diamonds... the stackers are fabulous; wear them alone or three, four, five at a time. Gorgeous! I especially love the thin silver or gold cuff, you can layer those as well - see how wonderful it is that I actually pulled off getting these ready for the holidays?

You can find all these piece very soon in my Etsy store online, and before the end of the year adorn + cherish will be sold on that super fantastic, really darling website, Hazel & Harlow.

This Ring is the Most Loved

Karen Fields Gallery

We love it so much when someone enjoys their adorn + cherish design enough to write about it on their blog or website... this lovely artist, Karen Fields is a true talent in her own right, so having my work appreciated by a fellow artist is very gratifying.

Karen really loves the Signature Wide Band Ring in pink topaz (just such a popular style for me) that I thought I'd share it again here...

You can find this and other options for the Signature Ring on my Etsy shop space; http://adornandcherish.etsy.com.

100% Conflict Free

Recent news has come out in the market that a dramatic percentage of jewelry designers and manufacturers are sourcing gold and stones from conflict regions in the Congo. These sources directly fund deadly military actions against the people of the Congo, and I want to be very, very clear that adorn + cherish will never deal with or source our gold, silver, mixed metals or any type of stones, from conflicted regions. Unfortunately so often a designer or manufacturer can be mislead by a supplier, or not really know the impact they can play in affording such horrific behavior. It is ultimately the consumers job to inquire as often as possible, if in fact the designs you are purchasing are sourced as "conflict free" goods. The only way we as an industry can stop these dangerous practices is to assure our customers that we actively support thoughtful and responsible sourcing.
adorn + cherish is proudly associated with the Responsible Jewellry Council and consider this matter to be extremely important to me as a designer, and to my valued customers.

Raising the Bar

'Tis the season as the saying goes, and adorn + cherish is out and about peddling my reworked wares with a force to be reckoned with this go around to be sure. I've had so many wonderful clients this year, so many amazing opportunities to create really lovely pieces, that I'm going to be launching a small series of the spring release at an event (very near and dear to me these women) in San Francisco (San Mateo to be exact) on November 22nd.

The Bar Method Studio (that incredible place where you can literally reshape your shape if you're into some serious working out) will be hosting the adorn + cherish Holiday Sale from 8AM to 2PM rain or shine, at their location in the Crystal Springs Plaza in San Mateo (directions below). I'm going to have a few friends who have gorgeous collections too right there with me; hazel & harlow, Vicente Agor, Briana Erin and Tat2 Designs... a genuine bevy of beautiful baubles for pennies of what they usually sell for!

Keep It SIMPLE

Oh how I love, love reading wonderful reviews about adorn + cherish - I'd be a lying fool if I didn't admit to gushing whenever someone happily embraces something I've created, and I'd be crazy not to want to roll around in like a fat little piggy just a bit 'ya know?

The dandy blog site SIMPLE and one of its sharp and witty writers, Kate, owns the adorn + cherish signature wide band ring and "simply" adores it - rejoice, rejoice! The review is really well written and describes to a tee how I operate; just can't tell you how much I appreciate when someone gets what I do.

We like the keep it SIMPLE part, that's the beauty of it all.

The Stunning Bride and Very Dapper Groom

I've written about Raan and Lindsay before, sharing our relationship over the months getting their wedding bands just right, so perseverance prevailed and this hip and gorgeous couple were married in Santa Barbara in the most idyllic spot wearing their special rings on the big day.
The photographer, Raya Carlisle is crazy good, so check out her website too for more wedded bliss shots of my special Cali couple.

The bride's engagement ring and wedding band were created in 14K white gold with black diamonds, and the groom's wide band was hand carved in fine sterling silver.

True love stories never have endings. Richard Bach

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Parton ~

adorn + cherish at the HoCo Fest 09

So I've been wondering just where my reworked designs would fit best in this rustic, hip little town called Tucson, when I discovered a trippy event happening over Labor day weekend that will be absolutely perfect; the HoCo Fest 09. The entire community will be buzzing about this rousing event, and it's all taking place in downtown Tucson, in and around the legendary Hotel Congress (you know, the place where Hoover's boys tracked down Dillinger). Tons of amazing musicians, yummy regional foods, wine tasting, and fair trade, eco-friendly artists and services (yep, that's where I come in) to make this hot, September weekend a few days to chill and have a fabulous time. I'll have a wonderful selection of reworked vintage pendants, earrings, bracelets and rings - all priced to sell and sell quick!

OK, so Depp won't be there in character as John Dillinger, but hey, at least we can say we're hanging out on very cool grounds and who knows, the spirit of Dillinger and Billie (the one he loved almost as much as robbing banks) might just be swaying to the tunes and enjoying the downtown desert scene...
